True Leaf Medicine International, maker of hemp-based chews and supplements in Vancouver, B.C., Canada, partnered with Monarch Pet, a wholesaler based in Denver, Colo., to distribute its True Hemp pet treats in Colorado, New Mexico and Utah, bringing the total number of U.S. states where True Hemp is for sale to 36.
Monarch is a family-owned and operated wholesale distributor of natural pet foods, treats and supplies, serving 350 independent pet stores in the western U.S.
“True Hemp is a unique product that will prove popular with consumers looking for healthy, natural products for their pets,” said Jeff Flora, who owns Monarch with his wife Tracie. “They’re a real fit for Monarch and its independent retailers.”
“The agreement with Monarch continues the amazing growth story of our True Hemp products,” said Darcy Bomford, True Leaf CEO, adding that True Hemp now generates revenue in North America and Europe. “In just 14 months, we’ve gone from pre-production to becoming a global brand.”
True Leaf also announced upcoming pet line extensions: True Hem ‘Sticks’ and True Hemp ‘Oil’—two new delivery formats with the same powerful True Hemp Hip + Joint, Calming and Health formulations, the company stated. The company plans to shipping initial orders of the sticks and oil early in 2017.
