Whether your supplier is the dispensary in your community or…someone else who’s willing to share, according to new data by FiveThirtyEight, Friday is the best day of the week to make your purchase—or alternatively, it’s the day of the week to avoid if you don’t like crowds or competition.
Depending on the method you prefer to procure your marijuana, you’ll see the most competition (or the largest supply) on Fridays, with recreational users buying slightly more on Saturday than Friday, but the overall numbers weighing in Friday’s favor. You can see the graph above, sourced by MMJ Menu, a point-of-sale system that’s used by medical marijuana dispensaries (and owned by Weedmaps.) It lists pounds sold for medical and recreational use on each day of the week, using a sample of 451 dispensaries in Colorado as its data source.
Of course, that means the data is probably most reflective of habits and trends in Colorado, but it’s worth considering as an overall trend—the end of the work week means people both have the time and the desire to run their errands, as it were, especially if they’re the type of errands that might make the weekend a bit more relaxing.
